Storm damage, injury reported in Washington County early Wednesday

Sheriff Joel Cochran sent 13WMAZ pictures of damage that occurred early Wednesday morning.

After Wednesday morning's storms, some in Washington County are picking up the pieces after a strong storm moved through.

The leading edge of the storms pushed into the western part of the county around 8:30 a.m., making it to the Jefferson and Glascock County lines by 9:15 a.m.

In addition to the damage, one injury was reported as well.

Broad rotation was observed on the radar just north of Sandersville around 8:50 in the morning. The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning with a "tornado possible" tag shortly before.

Meteorologist Alex Forbes was tracking the storm live on 13WMAZ during a cut-in of CBS Mornings. No Tornado Warning was issued.

13WMAZ has a crew headed to Washington County and will have more tonight at 5, 6, 10, and 11 p.m.
